For Families

“I don't want to go home” — when someone says this, the family is calling.

We each have our own room, but nobody talks. We are one family living five separate lives.

Over the past year we have walked alongside 40+ families in systemic processes in Antalya. Many started with the same sentence: “Individual therapy wasn't enough — the problem lives inside the family.”

One member's symptom — a teenager's low mood, a child's outbursts, a partner's complaint — is usually the family system speaking out loud. Fixing one member is not enough; the system has to be worked with. For international families, relocation, distance from grandparents and life between two cultures add extra load.

Our role: to help you see the family dynamic from the outside, clarify the map of roles and alliances, and build a more balanced way of communicating — together.

The 5 Family Therapy Approaches We Use

Evidence-based models that look at the family system from different angles — combined according to what your family brings, not applied by default.

🌳 Bowen — Intergenerational

Bowen Family Systems

How patterns pass from one generation to the next. Genogram analysis, differentiation and triangulation — especially revealing for families with roots in several countries.

🏛️ Minuchin — Structural

Structural Family Therapy

Boundaries, alliances and hierarchy within the family. Strengthening the parental team and clarifying the parent-child boundary.

🇮🇹 Milan — Systemic

Systemic Family Therapy

Family myths, circular questioning and paradox techniques. Transforming the unspoken rules of communication.

💞 EFT-Family

Emotionally Focused Family Therapy

Attachment ruptures within the family, with EFT principles adapted to the family system.

🗣️ CBT-Family

Working together on what family members believe about each other and how they behave day to day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Family Therapy — What Families Ask Us

When should a family consider family therapy?

Family therapy is worth considering when the same argument keeps repeating, when one family member's distress ripples through everyone else, after major transitions such as relocation, divorce or bereavement, or when communication between parents and teenagers has broken down. For international families, the strain of living between cultures often adds a layer that individual therapy alone cannot address.

Which approaches do you use?

We work eclectically with evidence-based family models: Bowen's intergenerational approach, Minuchin's structural family therapy, systemic (Milan school) techniques, emotionally focused family work and CBT-informed family interventions. The combination is chosen to fit the family, not the other way round.

How long does family therapy take?

Sessions last 60-75 minutes, held weekly or fortnightly. A focused adjustment issue may settle within 8-12 sessions; long-standing patterns typically need 12-25. Progress is reviewed openly with the family at regular intervals.
